A popular content-sharing platform used by over 150,000 companies, Box enables you to store documents, spreadsheets, photos, and videos in the cloud and access them from any device as well as share them with your coworkers. While you can use this app as a personal cloud solution, it performs best when used in the workplace.

Pros

10GB free storage: With a free account Box for Android gives you 10GB of storage space and no file size limitation, which is more than what Dropbox or other popular storage services offer. Getting more space is easy and affordable through one of the existing plans -- unlimited storage is available for enterprises.

Intuitive all-round: The app's clean, easy-to-navigate interface facilitates file uploading, previewing, sorting, browsing, and sharing, as well as the saving of files to your device for offline accessing. What's more, you can also quickly perform basic edits on non-PDF documents as well as preview files.

Social features: Apart from conveniently sharing files and folders through links, you can also leave comments on files and invite colleagues to view and edit files. Straightforward and well implemented, these social features reduce the number of work-related emails you have to send on a daily basis.

Cons

Doesn't support folder uploads: Manually selecting what to upload is a tedious affair when you have a folder full of files. Dropbox and other similar apps support folder upload.

Preview quirks: Sometimes the preview takes ages to load, even for relatively small documents. Moreover, you cannot preview videos but have to download them to your device and open them with a media player.

Bottom Line

Although Box for Android could do with some improvements and is not yet as polished as the iOS app, it remains an excellent download for businesses and organizations of all sizes that need to store files online and easily share them internally. If you're just looking for a personal file storage service, however, Dropbox is a better choice, at least until this app starts supporting folder uploads.
