Food delivery apps are so popular that they're changing restaurants

With the advent of food delivery apps, restaurants are seeing an increase in their bottom lines while their dining rooms remain relatively empty.

The download of apps like UberEats, GrubHub, Postmates, and DoorDash are up 380 percent from three years ago according to App Annie, a market-data firm. The US could see restaurant delivery apps climb another 12 percent in the next four years, according to research firm Cohen and Company.
