How to gift iPhone in-app purchases to friends and family for holidays

Just in time for the holidays, Apple now supports in-app purchase gifting. Prior to the update, iPhone and iPad users could buy paid iOS apps or give loaded gift cards as gifts.

"Apps may enable gifting of items that are eligible for in-app purchase to others," the App Store Review Guidelines said. "Such gifts may only be refunded to the original purchaser and may not be exchanged.
