Apple Watch ECG health app comes to Hong Kong and Europe

After its successful debut in the US this past September, the ECG app on the Apple Watch Series 4 arrived Thursday in Hong Kong and 19 European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. The new regions are part of the watch OS 5.2 update.

Apple and Stanford University release full results of Watch heart study

Before Apple announced the Apple Watch's ability to perform echocardiograms on the go last year, it was working with Stanford University to study the technology. The Apple Heart Study enrolled 400,000 people.

According to study results, presented Saturday, 2,000 of those participants received a notification about an irregular heart rhythm, which can be a sign of a larger problem, like atrial fibrillation. The sooner warning signs can be spotted, the sooner people can seek help.

Moby's dreamy new album is exclusively on the Calm meditation app

Google Fit sunsets its website and doubles down on its fitness app and Wear OS

If you log on to Google Fit's website today, you'll be greeted by a yellow banner saying web support for the health tracker is coming to an end.

The Google Fit site will shut down on March 19, Google said in its announcement. If you want to keep track of your activities and continue your health goals, Google suggests you install the Fit app on your Android device or Wear OS smartwatch.

Health insurance provider Aetna, in collaboration with tech giant Apple, created a new well-being app called Attain.

The app provides users with personalized fitness goals, tracks daily activity levels and recommends healthy lifestyle choices. Attain also offers a massive perk: When users put in more effort or hit their goals, they can earn points, which can go towards gift cards or buying an Apple Watch.
