A lean and open-source password manager, Bitwarden can store and autofill your passwords on Android as well as other popular OSes and browsers.

Pros

Generate, store, and autofill passwords: The Bitwarden password manager will generate, remember, and fill in passwords for the websites you visit and apps you use on your device. The app can generate random passwords and import items from other password managers if you are switching over to Bitwarden.

Web vault: Using Bitwarden's cloud service lets you sync across any device and browser you have Bitwarden installed on (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android as well as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Tor, and more). Through your vault, you can also share passwords with trusted friends and family.

Free single user: Bitwarden is free to use, with syncing across all your devices you have the password manager installed on. With a free account, you can create two collections of related log-in information and share log-in collections with one other trusted person.

Affordable premium account: For $10 a year, you can subscribe to a premium account that includes 1GB of encrypted file storage and options for two-step authentication. The account covers five people and lets you create unlimited collections of related log-in items you can share with others.

Open source and secure: Bitwarden is open source software, with the code hosted on GitHub. And as with other trusted password managers, Bitwarden uses the industry-standard AES-256 to encrypt your data.

Cons

Documentation could be better: Documentation and help files can feel a bit spotty with some information appearing out of date or confusingly described, such as referring to the subscription as a "Premium" account in some documents and a "Family" account in others.

Bottom Line

Bitwarden offers a generous free plan that lets you install and sync the password manager on all your devices and an affordable subscription to share password and log-in information with others.

    Developer's Description

Create and manage secure passwords so that you can get back to enjoying your life online.

bitwarden is the easiest and safest way to store all of your logins and passwords while conveniently keeping them synced between all of your devices.

Password theft is a serious problem. The websites and apps that you use are under attack every day. Security breaches occur and your passwords are stolen. When you reuse the same passwords across apps and websites hackers can easily access your email, bank, and other important accounts.

Security experts recommend that you use a different, randomly generated password for every account that you create. But how do you manage all those passwords? bitwarden makes it easy for you to create, store, and access your passwords.

bitwarden stores all of your logins in an encrypted vault that syncs across all of your devices. Since it's fully encrypted before it ever leaves your device, only you have access to your data. Not even the team at bitwarden can read your data, even if we wanted to. Your data is sealed with AES-256 bit encryption, salted hashing, and PBKDF2 SHA-256.

This app uses Accessibility services. You can enable our auto-fill accessibility service to assist in filling login credentials into other apps and websites that you use on your device.
