Best BPM I've Worked With So Far
MorrieBrown- Pros
- It's very easy to use the workflows, it's all drag and drop so we don't need any coding. Tracks tasks really well so that everyone can manage multiple tasks at once. Notifications save us a lot of unnecessary checkups.
- Cons
- Had to make my own accounts payable module, only free for first 5 staff members
- Summary
- I've tried several other BPM systems before and most of them handled the final processes okay but were so incredibly difficult to work with that it practically wasn't worth it. This is the first one we've worked with that actually seems to have put real effort into the interface, because the drag-and-drop workflows are a huge improvement on anything else we've done. I manage a construction consulting firm, so I'm mostly interested in keeping employees on the right tasks when they're out in the field, and for that I need them to be able to use the programs that I do. This is definitely the best program for that. Also, they have a nice iPhone app so you can run it from the field with a phone connection.
We set up our BPM in one step
JoeSpaze- Pros
- Did everything we wanted from a BPM system. Really flexible. Workflows mean we could automate pretty much anything. Sorts tickets very well.
- Cons
- Not an open-source program. You need some html skill to be able to build your own custom interfaces.
- Summary
- It's great because it's a platform instead of just a program. Also, the email templates got rid of like the MOST tedious part of my job. It's incredibly flexible and we can do pretty much anything we want by creating new workflows. Just getting all our data centralized is a huge bonus for us.
Complete, flexible BPM platform
PaulPuffin- Pros
- We can customize fields instead of just relying on preset templates. It can notify people automatically based on set events. Easy to create custom charts/report generation for tracking performance. Integrates with Active Directory.
- Cons
- No accounting functions but integrates with QuickBooks
- Summary
- Being a small business (I'm the boss and I only have 9 employees), we tried for the longest time to go without any kind of BPM system because we thought it'd save us money. So, we put in the extra effort and keep good notes, but once we put up a system we realized that it was costing us more not to have one. It has gotten pretty much everything in our business onto one system, all mapped with flowcharts (like Visio, but they actually do things). It pushes everything along, saves tons of rote work spent filling out forms and writing up notification emails. It does not have any built-in accounting, but it integrates with Quickbooks. I highly recommend it
