ABC Phonics Spelling is based on the montessori phonics method to help children learn to read with phonics. The app teaches children letter sounds, short vowels, consonants, and blended sounds (digraphs). The app helps kids work on listening skills while also practicing spelling and building their vocabulary.The app has three different type of learning groups - CVC, CCVC, and CVCC blended sounds. - CVC, or Consonant-Vowel-Consonant, such as "PIG" and "TUG"- CCVC, or Consonant-Consonant-Vowel-Consonant, such as "SHIP" and "FROG"- CVCC, or Consonant-Vowel-Consonant-Consonant, such as "NEST" and "JUMP" Level 1 displays a three-letter word with no difficulty for beginning readers (CVC words). Level 2 offers short vowel sound CVCC or CCVC words Level 3 has more complex words that contains blended sounds and digraphs.Level 1 is enabled. Levels 2 & 3 can be enabled with an in-app purchase, so you can try before you buy.The app helps children to understand that words are made up of letter sounds/phonics . For each word, the children can touch the empty boxes to hear the sound the corresponding letter/letters. The children also hear the phonics sound of the letter by touching each letter. The children can pick certain word to work with.After completing four words, the children can play a fun animated fish bonus game for 30 sec. The app supports unlimited user accounts with detailed progress report for each student.The app offers total customized configuration.
