Although we must voice a few small gripes about WyvernWorks Drive Clean-Up Gold 2004, it makes a decent privacy pick overall. The app's main window looks a bit more attractive than the standard gray-box theme we see so often. It's also easy to use, letting you check boxes to decide which items to clean. The program wipes away tracks from common Windows system areas such as the Recycle Bin and the Run menu, and it clears all surfing traces from Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and AOL. You'll find support for a decent amount of third-party apps, but the absence of major IM clients is a notable oversight. The Custom Folder Clean Up Tool can regularly empty any folder on your PC, but it doesn't offer secure algorithms for permanently shredding data. The boss key, which lets you quickly hide all open browser windows with a keystroke combination, is definitely a nice touch. This might not be the most powerful privacy-protection application on the scene, but most average home users will find that WyvernWorks Drive Clean-Up Gold 2004 suits them just fine.
