Pros
Automatically stops when streaming audio stops
Cons
I bought Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder and it usually doesn't work. It combines several tracks into one-of course tags are missing. For example, Pure McCartney has 67 tracks, but it recorded all of them as 17. Support stinks! No US phone number, no email address. I completed and submitted a very limited form and heard nothing back.
Pros
Simple UI
Clean design
Cons
Operation not smooth
Upgrade to licensed version problematic
"Wondershare" driver gets in the way of performance
Manual needs to be proofed and edited (English is not the writers' first language)
Summary
(Note: I Installed from the Wondershare.com website directly, not cnet)
The trial capped off at five minutes, not by the number of songs. Everything else worked okay in the trial, so I decided to buy anyway.
After installing the registration key, I noticed my PC was not producing any sound at all, regardless if the Wondershare software was running. Their virtual sound driver had become the default. Changing the default, the software would not record. After deleting and re-installing per the FAQ, that problem was fixed but other problems came up. Their driver introduced sound quality problems. In one recording, severe distortion (ticking) could be heard after the five minute mark. I deleted the virtual driver, played the file again through the original drivers without any distortion at all. Clearly, it came from the Wondershare driver.
After spending so much time wrestling with the operations in just my first hour of use, I gave up.
Oh, and McAffee was installed without my consent or option. WTF?
Currently I am requesting a refund, we'll see how that goes.
I work in tech support for a living. I don't know about other platforms, but for Windows 10/64 bit OS, stay away for now.
Pros
A great idea.
Cons
Doesn't record anything due to a virtual sound card problem that the customer support don't know how to fix (after three weeks of email exchanges and trying different suggest fixes).
This software is also very intrusive..

Pros
Enormous opportunity exists for an app developer to get this right...because this app doesn't. You might think all the great apps have been created - think again.
In it's favor: Rejected all the 'crapware' installs and then clicked on a separately downloaded track, and Itunes opened to play it just fine - so it did not take over as default audio player
Cons
Does not recognize separate tracks, does not pick up commercials despite being set to the default settings (autosplit if silence more than 300ms). One of the songs it did not recognize (unknown artist) was Elvis Costello's "Red shoes".
Summary
Ran the 24 min recording in audacity - and of course it is easy to see the commercials and edit them out. But why pay $$ if you have to take this extra step? If someone could pair up Audacity and Shazam with audio streaming....we might really have something - Please, app developers out there ??
Pros
Does occasionally succeed in recording streamed music, but....
Cons
Infuriatingly riddled with bugs.
The track identifier rarely works, with random artwork being generated, inconsistency of album names, and regular mix ups when the artist is given as the composer and vice versa. Regular hanging on PC. Track identifier works, then doesn't, requiring a completely reinstall. Annoyingly the developers seem to know about this and yet...
Summary
Bloody annoying and not worth buying until they've sorted it out.
Pros
+ Good quality
+ Easy to use
+ Cuts the songs
Cons
- I want 320 kbps
Summary
A good software if you want quality music offline!
Pros
Easy to use, many sites supported, able to record, you can tag and add album artwork to the songs.
Cons
No problems in using this software
Summary
Overall a very good product
Pros
It works for 10 songs for free. After that, you have to register and pay.
Cons
It downloaded all kinds of malware to my computer. When I went to Amazon, I kept getting all kinds of pop-ups. I had to run 2 virus scanners to remove all of it! WARNING!!

Dear CoPatriot,
It appears there must have been some misunderstanding. Where did you download SAR? Wondershare does not and will not ever bundle malware with any product. If you downloaded SAR directly from CNET or our official website wondershare.com it wouldn't have any malware attached.
It's also possible that the pop-ups were from Amazon.:)
Sincerely,
Wondershare Support
Pros
There are no Pros for this program, download at your peril
Cons
I tried the 7 day free trial first
1st problem is on the 7 day free trial you can only identify 10 tracks you have downloaded, so what is the point in a 7 day trial?
It downloaded 10 tracks from a streaming site, but incorrectly identified 3 of them [wrong song and/or wrong artist]Tracks worked OK on identifying on Shazam on iPhone so they were not obscure tracks. Customer service in China? could not help, so I uninstalled. Worse as soon as I uninstalled my wifi internet stack was altered and todate I am still unable to get it running again on the laptop I used.
I contacted customer service in China? and they said reinstall
Summary
I cannot believe the good reviews for this product.....it just does not work properly, giving incorrect info in 30% of downloads
and probably screwing my computers register.

Dear beastiebaz,
Honestly, there is a quantity limitation when you are using the free trial version of this product. Once you purchase the product, there will be no such limitations. For most of the trial editions for our other multi media products, there is no functional difference except that a watermark is added until purchased. Did you try troubleshooting through the instructions from this link? http://bit.ly/1gVpmGV
If this doesn't work, please click the Settings button, disable the Auto-identify function and manually identify the songs after recording by right-clicking on the recorded file and choosing "Identify Track Info." The program uses the largest song library called GraceNote to identify songs. If this doesn't work, the song may not be in the music library and we apologize for the inconvenience. Could you let us know the details of the few songs you recorded? If it is streaming online audio, you could provide the link for us. Thanks! http://bit.ly/INhnzg
Pros
Does what is it supposed to do. The trial period was fine, I decided to purchase and works as advertised. Very intuitive. The auto-tag works great (not perfect). BUT...
Cons
.. Like DSunhammer said, I'm glad they didn't get my bank account. The software totally takes over your system and OS. I was able to reject all crapware offers during the install process but still it has a brain of its own. It becomes your default software to open video and audio files. Changing it on the windows preferences only affects that session until the next Windows reboot. Takes longer than itunes or WMP to load so it would definitely NOT be my preferred player.
It affects your audio drivers, volume, delays audio and more while open.
Summary
If you know what you are doing, it is recommended. Otherwise, watch out.
