Editors' Review

This shoot-em-up game hones your hand-eye coordination and indulges your urge to destroy. Water in Fire 2 lets you control either a fighter plane, a battleship, or a base station in your quest to decimate all the enemy aircraft. Though your goal is to destroy all foes to advance to the next level, you also must be careful not to shoot friendly planes, bringing you more weapons and supplies. The graphics are fairly decent and the sound effects seem realistic, but we didn't think the techno soundtrack was appropriate for a violent war game, so we disabled it. We found both the first two difficulty levels a bit too easy for our tastes, but once we switched over to the Hard setting, the challenge greatly increased. If you're looking for a game with an intriguing plotline, Water in Fire 2 is not for you, but if you just want to blast things to smithereens, this program has your number.
