Truckers Delight: Episode 1 for iOS

Trucker's Delight is a risque, arguably misogynistic driving game based on a popular, inarguably profane Web video of the same name--and each game opens with a short excerpt of that video.

You're driving a tractor-trailer, in pursuit of a woman driving a red convertible--with whom, let's say, you've had some sort of romantic misunderstanding. Your goal is to rack up points by bumping the red convertible as many times as possible, while reaching checkpoints every 30 seconds. If you ever don't reach a checkpoint (because you've been delayed by collisions with other vehicles, off-road driving, or angry bikers and cops), the game ends. The gameplay in Trucker's Delight: Episode 1 is a clear homage to Sega's much-beloved Out Run, and the interface is simple and gratifyingly responsive: you just tilt left and right to steer, and the game constantly challenges you with twisty terrain and maze-like traffic. A large Out Run-style timer and a 2D map at the bottom of the screen help you track your progress toward the next checkpoint. You can also run over occasional power-ups, such as "Mr. Bull" (which lets you plow through traffic, thanks to temporary horns on your truck), "Mr. Turbo" (which rockets you through most of the current checkpoint), and "Mr. Slurp" (which lets you increase your score multiplier by unlocking a lewd mini-game that's largely responsible for the app's 12+ age rating, for "Infrequent/Mild Sexual Content or Nudity").

Much like the Web video itself, the Trucker's Delight game shows smart execution and some serious attention to detail, especially in the music and visuals. Setting aside its propriety (both the video, and the much more tame game), Trucker's Delight is a surprisingly fun little app, especially for nostalgic fans of racing games like Out Run.
