Version: Treo USB Modem 1.50
By Bryan Toder
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. If you travel a lot and need high-speed Internet access for your computer, this is the Palm app for you. I am *so* impressed my USB Modem. While setting up wasn't so clear, once I contacted support, it worked perfectly.
My first use of it was in Las Vegas, where our hotel was charging its customers $10 a day for Internet use. I was there for 6 days, so I *would* have paid the hotel 60 bucks. Instead, I plugged in my Treo 700p, started USB Modem, clicked "connect" on my Powerbook... and I was surfing the Net at high-speed.
This is an awesome product and it's saved me money already.
It works anywhere you have a data connection with your mobile phone.
NOTE: You need a data connection with UNLIMITED usage, or you will end up with a HUGE phone bill.
If you need high-speed Internet on the roqad and you have a Treo, get this app. (Can you tell I like it?)
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I downloaded this thinking it was a true USB Modem program for use on your Treo 650, as it is a modem type program, but it is similar to other programs (shareware and freeware) already out there.
I was hoping that this was a program to use your Treo 650 as a modem with your own dial-up.
Respectfully, dial-up is much slower, but using your Verizon, Cingular, ETC. service, will save you some change.
I had (which I turned off), MeDiaNet from Cingular, and I cannot see giving them another $20 bucks for unlimited service. The lower price services they offer just don't cut it.
Oh well, thanks for your effort on my part.
