Programmers will appreciate the simplicity of this freeware tool for converting UNIX time into real time, but a glitch with TimeStamp Converter means you have to take an extra step to access it.
TimeStamp Converter's no-frills interface is very intuitive. No Help menu is included, but you'll find that one really isn't needed. You have the option of entering the date and time in separate fields to reveal the timestamp. Likewise, you can enter the timestamp to reveal the specific date and time. During our tests, the program instantly retrieved the correct date and timestamp each time we entered information. The only problem that we came across occurred when we tried to launch the program from our status bar. We continually received an error message. Each time we wanted to summon the program, we had to go into our Tools menu and select it.
Despite that one issue, TimeStamp Converter is a great tool for UNIX users looking to quickly perform time conversions. Those needing this type of functionality will be glad that, although it's flawed, the program is free.
