Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

This Lines-style game offers a simple, yet addictive twist, on the tried-and-true formula. Unlike most similar games, you can only remove objects from the board in groups of two, which makes The Matrix pretty tough. When you exhaust all your matches, you must reload the board and double the number of tiles. Even on the easiest difficulty level, we could never clear the entire board to solve the puzzle, so we can only imagine that the hard mode will keep you busy for hours on end. The interface can't be resized for a better view, but does offer several skins, and you can choose between a few different objects to remove, including numbers found in the famous code of the hit Matrix films. If you're a fan of puzzle games, it won't hurt to give this one some of your time.
