The Black Knight

If you're in the mood for some mindless, mean-spirited fun, you're likely to enjoy The Black Knight. You control an oafish knight decked out in spiked attire. By orders of the king, you must collect gold by braining helpless peasants with your club, mace, sword, or other weapons you purchase. To earn some extra cash, you also can randomly vandalize and destroy fruit and souvenir stands. The game is easy to control; you simply use your mouse to do all the dirty work. The highly detailed cartoon graphics remind us of old Warner Bros. cartoons, as does the lively music. The peasants also occasionally pepper you with humorous insults as you bash away at them. It's nice that the game changes background scenery each level, but you won't find any features for customizing the game yourself. Still, since it doesn't cost anything, we can recommend The Black Knight to users with a twisted sense of humor or a wanton destructive streak.
