Maroon-5 is a pop rock band. This group was formed in California, in the United States. The group was formed in 1997 as Kara's Flowers while they were still in high school. Together with members Adam Levine, Mickey Madden, Jesse Carmichael and Ryan Dusick, they signed the Reprise Record and released the album The Fourth World in 1997.
After a warm response to the album, the group separated from their label and entered college. In 2001, the group met and added James Valentine to its members. It took a new direction under the name of Maroon-5.
Maroon-5 signed the Octone Record and recorded her first album in 2002. Her album, Songs About Jane, was released in June 2002. Her first song, "Harder to Breathe", was frequently released, helping to propel the album ranked 6th in the US Billboard 200.
