Around mid August teachers run to the nearest teacher supply store and start planning out the perfect classroom theme to decorate their room for the upcoming school year. After they collect everything in the store that completes their vision they walk to the check out counter and see that they are about $100 over budget from the $50 stipend they were given from their school to put towards their classroom materialsIf they are lucky enough to have received a stipend.
Teachers have already started spending their own money on their classroom for their students and the school year has not even started. This pattern continues throughout the school year. This is why I am so excited about this new app that has come out! It is called Teachers Boutique and it is an app that allows teachers to buy and/or sell new or gently used items. This allows teachers who are leaving the profession because of retirement, maternity leave, or a career change to be able to sell back some of the items and materials they have purchased or created for their classroom, so they
can have some sort of a return on their investment. It is also for teachers who are changing grade levels or for the teacher who decides they just want to switch things up in their classroom. The best part is that the teachers get to keep 90% of whatever they sell through the app!
This app is not only for teachers, it can be for parents, homeschooling parents, daycare workers, basically anyone who is around children. Also it is a great way for new parents or new teachers to buy these new or gently used materials at a much lower price than it would be at at a teacher retail store, allowing them to leave a little more money in their pocket.
