Minimalistic and easy to use, Tasks satisfies the essential task management needs of busy professionals. However, this app has been developed to be used in conjunction with the premium apps CalDAV-Sync beta and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar, which means that if you're not using those apps, you cannot enjoy task-syncing with your calendar. Two other missing features are task notifications and categories.
After a quick installation, Tasks presents you with a neat interface that lets you easily create tasks and sort them according to due & start dates, priority, and progress. The interface is so straightforward that no tutorial is included, or necessary. Apart from the usual task details like title, status, time, and location, the app also lets you choose how much of the task has been already completed (as a percentage), set privacy levels, and insert a relevant URL -- options which not many other task managers offer, not even premium ones. What's missing, though, is the ability to group or categorize tasks, as well as reminders for due tasks. Recurring tasks are not yet available, but will be implemented in the next version. In terms of performance, the app runs smoothly even when loaded with many tasks.
With its accessibility, convenience, and pleasing design, Tasks proves to be a good solution if you're in need of a fast and lightweight task manager that doesn't require too many taps or distracts you with unnecessary features. Before downloading it, though, keep in mind that you cannot use task-syncing unless you buy certain premium calendar apps.
From Team Tasks:
This is a simple task app meant to be used in conjunction with CalDAV-Sync beta and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar. Please note: You'll need CalDAV-Sync 0.3 or SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar 1.6 to get task-sync, older releases don't support tasks. This app supports basic task management and provides an easy to use user interface. For Android 4.x users: To complete a task in the list view, just fling it from the left to the right.NOTE: This task app doesn't support recurring tasks yet. You'll see recurring tasks, but you can not edit single instances. Any changes you make will apply to the entire series! Please keep that in mind.It works in Android 2.x, but it's optimized for Android 4.x. Support for Android 2.x will be improved in future releases.Open sourceThe app is open source. Please feel free to join the development at: https://github.com/dmfs/tasksTo report bugs, please use this bug tracker: https://github.com/dmfs/tasks/issuesFeatures still to come:* more translations* support for recurring tasks* support for alarms* support for categories* more task groupings, sortings and filters* widgets* many morePlease don't rate missing features, but only features the app already has.
