This software is one of the more clear-cut backup tools we've seen, but it fails to offer some fairly routine features. Synchro Backup Professional's simple interface helps users quickly browse files, folders, or drives to create backups. Users can easily schedule backup jobs at almost any interval. Impressively, this utility even backs up files that are in use. It also runs well as a service to allow backups when users are logged off.
For quick backups, this utility makes it a snap to create desktop shortcuts to backup scripts. It quickly stores backups on local drives, but can't save files to CD or through FTP. Synchro Backup Professional creates logs and sends results via e-mail, however it failed to deliver logs during our tests. Unlike some similar programs, Synchro Backup Professional doesn't offer backup file compression or encryption. All things considered, Synchro Backup Professional is a viable backup program for novices and casual users, but falls short as a tool for power users.
Synchro Backup is an easy to use backup utility, which synchronizes your precious files to local drives, network locations, flash memory, and many other types of removable media. Synchro Backup offers scheduling features which are completely customizable and allow full automation of backups. A Windows NT/2K/XP/2003/Vista service is included which will perform your scheduled backups if you aren't logged in or if Synchro Backup isn't running.
E-mail notifications can be sent to an e-mail address of your choice so that you know the results of your automated backups wherever you are. The Shadow Copy (VSS) feature will synchronize files regardless of whether they are in use or locked by other programs including Outlook PST files, Exchange files and database files like MySQL/MSSQL. Full unicode character support allows Synchro Backup to access files named in Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, or any other language which has a large character set.
