StarFilter Pro 4 is a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop that you can use to add strikingly beautiful star filter effects to your images digitally, without the use of cumbersome glass filters. Additionally, there is not the overall loss of contrast that is associated with glass filters. It can also be used with other image editors that support 8BF plug-ins.
The plug-in provides 6 different, user selectable, Star effects plus two unique effects. It offers you the ability to control every aspect of the rendered effects, and provides mathematical simulation of diffraction, resulting in beautiful, natural, three dimensional-looking and believable output. Using its Basic Mode you can easily apply the selected effect to the highlights in your image and quickly adjust the appearance of the effect. Using its Advanced Mode, you can individually adjust the appearance of the Spikes, Soft Flare and Ring Flare portions of the Star effects for maximum artistic control.
The plug-in is content aware so it will automatically identify highlights within your image. Using its powerful editing capabilities you can ignore existing highlights or add new ones. You can also adjust the color and brightness of the effect applied to each individual highlight. It is fully color managed so it works properly with calibrated and profiled displays. It includes a Scrollable, Zoomable Interactive GPU-Accelerated Preview display that makes it easy to precisely adjust and position your effects within the image that you are editing.
The plug-in supports full editor integration so it works with Selections, Layers, and Masks. It is fully compatible with Photoshop Actions. and can be used as a Smart Filter. It supports 8, 16, and 32 bit per channel color as well as Grayscale. Internally it uses 32 bit floating point mathematics to insure high quality and color accuracy. It incorporates High DPI Display Scaling Support, so it is fully compatible with modern high resolution displays.
