Star Wars Pinball 2 replicates the fun of arcade-style pinball games with authentic Star Wars artwork and sound effects. Any fans of Star Wars will enjoy getting lost in this game while racking up points for your choice of the Dark Side or the Light Side.
Total integration: There is nothing about this game that doesn't scream "Star Wars." Familiar characters pop up everywhere, theme music plays in the background, and there are audio clips from the movies to go along with many of the point-scoring actions on the boards.
Challenges and achievements: To keep you coming back for more, the game includes all kinds of challenges you can work toward and achievements you can accomplish. It also integrates with Game Center, so you can compete with your friends and see how you stack up against worldwide competition.
Pricey additions: Each new table beyond what comes with the game costs $1.99 to unlock. There is no way to unlock these without making a purchase, and the app doesn't actually show the price or ask you to confirm the purchase before charging you and beginning the download.
Obstructed view: Especially on the small screen of the iPhone, it can be hard to operate the controls and also see the whole table. And because they are so detailed, many of the features of the tables are quite small, including the paddles, so you're often blocking your own view of what's happening on the table.
Any fan of "Star Wars" is sure to get a kick out of this game. It's unfortunate that you have to pay so much extra, every time you want to try out a new table, but you don't have to pay to keep playing the tables that come with the game. And while playing on the iPhone isn't ideal, it's a nice way to be able to take the game with you wherever you go.
