This no-frills 15-day trial application monitors disk and Registry changes to your computer, but lacks security protection. SpyMe Tools' basic interface simply lists changes made in the Registry and personal files. This utility thoroughly scans your computer to save its current state into a file for future comparisons. Running the application checks the file to note files and entries that have changed.

Real-time monitoring quickly identifies changes during program installations; a feature primarily helpful for detecting spyware. SpyMe Tools lacks password-protection, leaving the information accessible to other users. Real-time monitoring is not available for all operating systems. Though the monitoring feature is useful, most users would prefer a more robust application in this class.

Developer's Description

A very useful program in detecting registry and disk changes. You can either do a real time monitoring or you can scan the active state of the registry/disk and compare it to a previous state. This is useful because you'll save the scan dump in a file so whenever you want you may open that file to see the state of the disk(s)/registry just as it was when you've performed the scan process. You may also use the program as a registry backup tool because the dump files contain all the necessary data needed to restore the scanned registry keys.

Version 1.5 has improved registry snapshot speed. Snapshot files open (a lot) faster. Changed registry snapshot file format. Take snapshot of multiple subkeys & directories. Filter results displayed in realtime file monitor. Log actions to a log file. Can now delete new keys/undo key deletions and restore old key contents in registry while in comparison mode. Added progress view for scanning & comparison processes.
