Song Buddy recognizes the music you're listening to and provides more information about the artist and quick links to other resources. Whether you just want to know a little more about the music you're listening to, or you'd like to find similar songs, this app can give you what you're looking for through its intuitive and functional interface.
When you install Song Buddy, it runs from the taskbar in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. As you listen to music, either through iTunes or Windows Media Player, a notification will pop up on the bottom of your screen alerting you that there is information available about the current artist. Clicking this notification will expand the window to show a mini-bio of the artist. In this window, there are also links to Wikipedia, Facebook, Spotify, and iTunes that you can use if you're interested in getting more in-depth information, sharing what you've learned, or finding more music. Additional tabs in the Info window take you to a list of the artist's albums, a schedule of their upcoming events, and a list of similar artists you might be interested in.
You can also search for an artist by name through the toolbar on the top of the info window, and the settings menu gives you options for configuring notifications. This is a fun, free app to play around with, especially if you like music trivia or are always trying to find new artists to listen to.
