Version: Snowflakes 1.1.1
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I'm not thrilled with it; doesn't do much for me especially since all my desktop pictures are of warm places. Big problem--I can't get rid of it. After I quit it, I can't eject it or drag it to the trash because it tells me it's in use.

Version: Snowflakes 1.0
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Not bad, though the amount of CPU this thing uses is insane. I think you need to cut the CPU down to 10% or less, which is totally possible, of course. Also, I want to make the snowflakes fall slower. I know there's an option in preferences, but they still don't go slow enough. Blowing from side to side would be nice. I'd also want to adjust the transparency and size.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. This program sucks up both 20% of my proc on its own, and about another 70% of WindowServer. It makes QuickTime movies stutter. Also, the flakes are large and fall straight down - no wind blows or anything.
This needs to be improved, and should probably be open sourced so people can make it, erm, usable.
Also, a little integration would be nice. Using apps like the incredible DeskShade doesn't work too well, because sticking the flakes behind all windows causes nothing to show.
