This program creates several individual virtual desktops to help organize your desktop and manage applications, but we encountered a stability problem. Skreens offers a simple, functional interface that is accessible via the system tray. Four virtual desktops are initially offered, and you can move between them through a small, sleek floating window on your desktop. The floating window indicates which virtual desktop you are currently using.
You may add as many virtual desktops as you want by changing the dimensions of the floating window. Moreover, you're able to adjust the transparency level, set hot keys to hide/unhide windows, apply desktop transition effects, or preview open windows. Running applications can be moved from one desktop to another by simply dragging and dropping them from the floating window.
Unfortunately, features for customizing the desktop appearance are disabled during the trial period. It's also a mystery as to what the Panic and Style tabs do, since they are locked as well. Sadly, Skreens slowed down our computer and interrupted other programs during testing. With that said, users looking to organize might want to look for a more robust and stable desktop manager.
