Rivaling Bioshock, Elder Scrolls, Neopets, and even World of Warcraft in its complex backstories and character arcs, "Shadow Shinobi" explores themes of love, lust, adultery, promiscuity, cheating, and faithlessness. The tale itself begins in the midst of a very complex love-triangle-fiasco with Emperor Tokugawa's wife, after multiple dramatic betrayals and lovers' quarrels (please see our wiki page for more information).For this reason, while you are assassinating shoguns, you also have assassins after you.
