Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

This easy-to-use program provides most necessary tools for securing your data. The app's interface mimics Windows Explorer, so most users won't have a problem figuring out how to encrypt, decrypt, and destroy files. When locking down a file or folder, you can choose from two secure encryption algorithms, but the file shredder will only let you specify number of passes. SecureIT Encryption Software can quickly decrypt documents after you enter your password, and its ability to create self-decrypting EXEs means your recipients won't have to install the program to access secured data. Even though it doesn't offer much beyond normal encryption apps, this program makes a good pick for folks who want a hassle-free solution.
