Though it is limited to Internet Explorer, this free, no-frills application effectively secures your favorite Web links from snoopers.

Secret Bookmarks, which installs itself as an additional button in your IE toolbar, hides your favorite Web links stored in IE's Favorites list and is protected by a password. A pop-up menu conceals or shows bookmarks and accesses the program settings. The program delivered accurate results, completely concealing our favorite links in tests. However, the program offers no way to retrieve your favorite links if you ever forget the password. Any IE users who want to keep their favorite links a secret will find this free program a nice, hassle-free tool.

Now you don t have to look for a piece of paper to write down an address you like. You can save it in the usual browser location for bookmarks (in Favorites), and you won t have to worry about somebody else seeing it. Secret Bookmarks is a program that allows you to hide your bookmarks in Internet Explorer and Windows so that no one can find, decode, and look through them. Secret Bookmarks is built as an icon into the Internet Explorer panel. By clicking the mouse once, you can safely hide selected bookmarks in your browser. And, after simply clicking the icon again and entering your password, you can see them again.
