This extension offers the feature of being able to save the current page as an Internet shortcut file on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Personally, I've always used Internet shortcut files ("ISFs", from here on) for a multitude of reasons. For example, I use them:

  • To passively share links to content with people via Cloud shared folders
  • To replace the temporary use of pinned tabs and bookmarks
  • As portable links
  • To accompany installers with links to the websites, accompany projects with links to resources, etc

    But, I've always found them so awkward to create. Hence, this extension.

    A lot of people have asked "Why should I use this over simple text links?". Well, personally, I find that it's much easier to just double-click on the ISF, which automatically opens my default browser to the right page than to:
