Qcat: Ocean World is a collection of ocean-themed puzzles that task children with finding and putting the right pieces in place. The app does not offer a great deal of depth and the number of puzzles is not extensive enough to keep children engaged for long, but it is free and just one of many similar apps in the Qcat line.
When you first start Qcat: Ocean World, you can choose from between one of a handful of different puzzles. There are numerous options onscreen at any time, and each of them allows you to complete a different sea creature. Some puzzles are easier than others, but all of them are made for very young children -- toddlers and preschool-age children mostly. Because of this, the touchscreen nature of the app is very forgiving for boundaries and the music is fun and light. If you have a small child who enjoys this kind of app, the experience will be very rewarding.
There could certainly be more puzzles included, the ad placement can be problematic for small children who won't know not to press them, and the graphics are dated and very basic, but the core gameplay here is solid and perfectly suited to the target audience of two to five-year-old iOS users.
