Let the software do the thinking. When you have multiple projects with multiple processes, a single person cannot accurately schedule those processes without causing over capacity of a work center. When over capacity occurs, projects begin to become late with their completion dates resulting in the projects shipping late or accumulating overtime hours to get the project done on-time.
This software package allows you to add a project to the schedule and see where it lands and what the projected completion date will be. With this projected completion date you can report back to the customer as your ship date. As long as you follow the dates scheduled you will never miss a ship date. If you run into a snag such as late material arrival, engineering changes or whatever, you can reschedule the project and see where the new completion date will land. If you do not like the new schedule you can always restore using the "Backup" feature.
Track actual hours performed against calculated hours is a great benefit. With actual hours you will be able to fine tune your process duration's and get better scheduling time frames. Tracking actual hours also allows management to evaluate their employees and evaluate production processes.
