Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

While this program may appeal to folks who appreciate paint-by-numbers functionality, even for beginning Web builders there are more functional programs on the market. Power Website Builder is essentially a WYSIWYG Web editor, allowing even the most newbie designer to build a Web page without using any HTML. You can quickly create a Web page by choosing from a number of layout templates, or simply adding content and choosing font size or background color. There doesn't seem to be any option for adding images, however, or JavaScript features. The biggest problem we had with the design of this program, however, is a designer can't access the HTML behind the builder at all. During testing we were constantly pestered by a nag screen (which was doing its job, obviously) as part of the trial version limitations. While this program might seem attractive to beginning Web builders, we feel the program's limitations are too many to make it a completely useful program for Web design.
