Pixeur offers artists a chance to capture a color they see on their computer screens. Designed for those who understand the technical details of color, this tool will appeal to anyone obsessed with color.

The program is a little confusing to understand, mostly because it completely lacks a Help file. Thankfully, there are on-screen instructions to aid users and the program's click-and-drag methods quickly become second nature. The program functions very simply. Users drag the circular icon from the Pixeur screen and roll it over a color they like on their screens. Once a user releases the mouse button that color comes up on the screen's spectrum and its values are listed on the RGB and CMYK scales. Users can save a color's results and can also look deeper by clicking on radio buttons that showcase the color's shading and brightness. This tool is mastered quickly and provides immediate results, which users will love. The program's finest special feature is its capability to alter the targeting icon users drag to select a color. Cycling through a circle, a crosshair and an ink dropper provide full control.

The program installs and uninstalls cleanly. While there is no Help file, users will quickly get a hang of this freeware program. We highly recommend Pixeur for artists and anyone interested in the infinite possibilities of color.

What a great little program for working with colors!

It's simple to use, and flawlessly gives the RGB numbers for any and every color!

There's nothing negative to mention about Pixeur. It does what it promises,and in a simple, very usable format.

Pros
Its free. <p>It does a function that everyone has needed at one point or another, that being: finding the RGB values of ANY color on a screen so you can reproduce it later.
Cons
This version on Download.com is outdated. The current version is 2.5.0.1 I believe. Check the homepage :). <p>Color Cop, another freeware program which does the same thing as Pixeur, comes with a zoom tool so you can see what color you are picking letting you make sure you never pick the wrong color on the screen. I wish Pixeur would include this feature.

To think of all the time I have wasted trying to get this information for a vb application or a web page! All I needed was Pixeur. I especially love the ability to drag around the desktop to get the exact RGB or HEX color value for any color I can see! <p>- Enter color by RGB <p>- Enter color by HEX <p>- Enter color by Long Value <p>- Enter color by name <p>- Enter color by Drag to color on the desktop <p>- Paste to the clipboard. <p> <p>What more could you ask? Maybe a monkey to code you application and laugh all the way to the bank for you.
