Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies is the second port in the Ace Attorney series to make it to iOS. The fifth installment of the renowned graphic novel game series sees the return of Phoenix Wright as the main protagonist.
Fully fleshed-out stories: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies features well-written cases, funny dialogue, and charming characters. If you like mystery and detective stories and are willing to ignore the blatant disregard for due process, you'll find the series endearing.
Optimized control: Originally optimized for the Nintendo 3DS (which featured a dual-screen touch interface), Dual Destinies' new iOS port is seamless. We actually preferred the game on the iPad.
Higher resolution: With the iPad you get a higher-resolution picture than the original game on the Retina Display: 2,048 x 1,536 pixels on the iPad over the even larger 800 x 240 pixels on the 3DS XL.
No 3D: The 3DS is a 3D-enabled screen; with the iPad you get a higher-quality image but no additional dimension.
Shaking continuity: Unlike previous games in the series, Dual Destinies' cases are well written but feel more like standalone stories than larger narratives. Transitions between cases seem rushed, and previous plots are discarded for more pressing matters.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies is better than its 3DS predecessor. More graphic novel than video game, the port features higher-quality animation than the original release, intuitive controls, and the same great storytelling. Dual Destinies is a great grab for any mobile gamer.
