"Peregrinatio Sancta. Le Bolle dei Giubilei dallArchivio Segreto Vaticano" is a unique exhibition which collects the bulls of Jubilees, from the first Jubilee in history proclaimed by Pope Boniface VIII in 1300 until the last Great Jubilee proclaimed by John Paul II in 2000.
The term "bull" is the lead seal (bulla) pendant from papal documents; the exhibition makes visible for the first time to the public these important original documents.
Commonly you cannot see these documents - parchments and registers because are kept in the Vatican Secret Archives (private archive of the Supreme Pontiff) and only scholars in fact may have access. For the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy it is possible to admire these original documents and discover the meaning and importance from the historical point of view.
