• Disaster.. nothing like version 2013.. malfunctions

  They upgraded the tech under the hood.. giving it a new look, as if they improved actually improved upon the last versions. It is supposed to read newer bios boards. (although the old one did fine)

  The list is endless: First complaint.. they renamed ALL the features. Instead of 'Backup Wizard' it is now called 'restore virtual disk'. Sorry, a compressed volume archive is NOT a virtual disk. Second.. I made a backup of two partitions on a working system using version 2013.. which I then tried to restore on another drive using the USB stick with version 2014. This failed, telling me my backup was NOT valid. So I re-burned the USB stick with v 2013 and rebuilt my partition without any further troubles. Third, they made the windows desktop interface GUI exactly like Tiles Metro in Win 8. It's almost dizzying. Fourth, the menu to create the rescue media now reads like the US constitution with a dozen sub-clauses. THESE DEVELOPERS are TOTAL IDIOTS! Speaking as a tech expert of 20 years.. I barely deciphered what was once child's play. AVOID version 14 LIKE THE PLAGUE.

  Summary

  I wrote both the tech team and the sales team. The only reply I got was that I must not send the same letter twice. I rate this Wizard or Oz: Scarecrow (or if I only had a brain.)

  Been using PHDM since 2008. Great product.

  Summary

  I would say this is for Advanced Users but I think anyone who "wants to learn" can use this full-featured program to do everything they need to their SSD/HDD managment. You don't learn major tools like this overnight, so take your time.

  (1) Very poor help feature (2) Technical manual seems more concerned ith marketing the company than telling you how to use their product (3)Confusing, cluttered user interface with options that are not well explained

  Summary

  If you enjoy confusion and frustration use Paragons backup/restore software. It may work but the help features are so stunted you would never likely know.

• Worst Software I ever used

  Pros

  1. I was eventually able to get in-touch with someone from customer service. 2. I was able to clone a drive.

  Cons

  For background, I have a Windows 7 machine, bran-new build no extra software. I immediately tried to use Paragon to obtain images of this new build and restore it to ensure the software worked and to become familiar with it. 1. Although the software installed, I was never able to restore an image of my C drive. This requires the reboot of your OS to complete and I always got an error. Customer service, after continual efforts to get in touch with them for two weeks, blamed me for the failure and did not help me with my problem. Instead, they said if I wanted better service I would have to actually purchase a service plan. 2. when creating a differential, I was never able to actually have it show up in my archives correctly and all verifications of them failed. Even if an original image verified correctly, a differential to that image corrupted it. As with number 1 above, I could never restore from a differential.

  Summary

  Horribly working software. Horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY this Software.

• After making disc images laptop cannot boot anymore

  Looks nice but very dangerous

  I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit as start partition and Windows XP Pro as second OS. I have done the Image copies with the Paragon Disc Manager 12 Suite, afterwards I could not boot anymore. Customer service could not help, so I have to reinstall the whole system again.

  Summary

  Beware very dangerous, can destroy your whole system when you are making images copies of your partitions.

  Pros

  1) Hard Disk Manager Suite 2012 promises a lot 2) I used to rely on Paragon Umm, I'm stretching for Pros here, so 3) Download speed to get software was good

  Cons

  1) Software won't install I have a "plain vanilla" Windows 7 machine and it won't install - probably my mistake is to have an earlier version of this product, but who knows. 2) Horrendous customer support! Bought the full version of Paragon HD Manager Suite 2012. To upgrade to 2012 requires the .msi file from the earlier version (2010 in this case), which Paragon won't or can't supply. Oh sure, they'll supply files, not just the right .msi file. After a lot of going back and forth with their customer "service" I now not only can't install the new version, I have an orginal version of HD Manager Suite that can't be used and can't be uninstalled. Customer "service" refuses to either a) provide the right file, or b) provide a refund. Please just be warned that if you buy Paragon's products and run into any problems you'll very likely be on your own and have no help - technical or otherwise - from customer service.

  Summary

  Paragon HD Manager Suite 2012 does not deliver what Paragon promises. Paragon advertises that they "take care of their customers". From my experience this is an empty claim at best and nothing short of fraudulent at most. Recommendation: Find one of the better products out there from the many reputable software vendors

  Caused my laptop to freeze upon first use. Waste of money.

  Summary

  Purchased it to migrate HDD to SSD. Upon first use, it never finished the migration, even though the rotating icon continued to cycle to falsely indicate it was still working. It had actually frozen my Win 7 laptop, causing me to have to restore it. I reinstalled the software and tried the migration again, same result, causing me to have to restore again. Don't waste your money on that Paragon crap. You can get the same partition utilities using EaseUS Partition Master and Gparted Live, both free and which WORKS, unlike that crap Paragon.

  5 stars for Hard Disk Manager! The best of the very best without a doubt. I have been using it's recovery for years to restore a hard disk image of my Windows installation. It has never failed me. These guys are professionals without a doubt.
