Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

Though packed with tools useful in preventing repetitive strain injuries (RSIs), this application isn't as proactive in its aid as we'd like. PC Aware has an intuitive design that monitors your keystrokes and mouse movements. It measures the amount of strain you may have sustained based on your activity to initiate much-needed breaks. During testing, a tiny message appears, nudging you to take a break. However, unlike similar applications, this one doesn't disable the mouse and keyboard during breaks. We were pleased with the more than 30 animated videos of different exercises to help lessen the strain of continual computer work; it would add to this program's effectiveness if an exercise or two would pop up during the breaks. Also, we appreciate the reference materials to better understand and prevent RSI. Despite the 15-day trial, any PC user interested in avoiding RSI will like what PC Aware puts on the table.
