OverDrive Media Console connects you to libraries, allowing you to check out various media files for reading or viewing. Some technical problems still exist despite the recent updates, but the overall ease of use will benefit you greatly.
Easy to use: Finding libraries on OverDrive Media Console was an uncomplicated process. We easily logged in and were able to find and download files, and the e-book and audiobook readers feature a helpful navigation sidebar.
Vast database: Without the large number of libraries accessed by OverDrive Media Console, this application would be useless. We noted that dozens of countries are supported by OverDrive, and hundreds of libraries can be found in most cities and provinces, so you will likely have access to media wherever you are.
Weird display: Although the graphics offered by OverDrive are attractive, the display did not fit well with our screen on occasions when we loaded library databases. A consequence of this was that images were sometimes hidden outside our screen's display.
Performance issues: Even after the version 3.1.3 update, a common error that led to e-books opening on the incorrect page still persisted during our tests. Other times, we found the application to be sluggish in loading new screens.
OverDrive Media Console is powerful and well connected, but the remaining glitches are distracting and may discourage you from using this program. We recommend OverDrive improve software performance and add the ability to find content from online sources, such as Google Play Books, in future updates.
