Openfire is a real time collaboration (RTC) server licensed under the Open Source Apache License. It uses the only widely adopted open protocol for instant messaging, XMPP (also called Jabber). Openfire is incredibly easy to setup and administer, but offers rock-solid security and performance.

Version 3.8.1 adds /usr/lib/jvm/default-java to the collection of default locations to look for a JRE, fixes group disappearing from the Group Summary view after editing its details, and restores shared group support for read-only GroupProviders.
