Next for iPhone enables you to track your expenses in various categories by letting you enter them quickly with just a few taps. And thanks to this app's streamlined design, you can see at a glance what you're spending the most on and how your spending in different categories trends over time.
Efficient recording: To record an expense through Next for iPhone, all you have to do is pick a category and type in an amount. As expenses accumulate in various categories, the icon color will darken, making it easy to quickly see where the most money is going. You can also swipe left or right to view data on your spending trends over time and dollar amounts of total spending in various categories.
Export and Sync: This software also offers a couple of other handy features to help you stay on top of your finances. For instance, you can export any or all of your data directly from the app to Excel or Numbers, and you can sync all data with the Next apps for iPad and Mac via iCloud.
No customization: There is a limited number of categories available in this app, and while it's a large number, there is no option to create your own. The icons for each category are also already set, and some of them are not terribly self-explanatory, so you'll likely avoid them or forget what you were using them for.
Next for iPhone is a good option for keeping track of your expenses on the go. Its super-streamlined process for entering expenses means you can record them as you go, so you don't have to remember to catch up on them later. It would be nice if there were some options to customize the input categories, but overall, this program offers exactly what you need to get the job done.
