Access weather data of all the NOAA COOP Stations directly to your iPhone and iPad.
The National Weather Service's (NWS) Cooperative Observer Program (COOP) is the nation's largest and oldest weather network.
More than 11,000 COOP stations, nearly 5,000 are climate stations (1,200 are Historical Climate Network sites), while more than 6,000 cooperative stations support hydrology requirements. Climate stations report 24-hour maximum and minimum temperatures, liquid equivalent of precipitation, snowfall, snow depth and other special phenomena such as days with thunder, hail, etc.
The app provides:
- observational meteorological data, usually consisting of daily maximum and minimum temperatures, snowfall, and 24-hour precipitation totals, required to define the climate of the United States and to help measure long-term climate changes
- observational meteorological data in near real-time to support forecast, warning and other public service programs of the NWS.
- search weather stations by name, description, region, US state, or geolocation (latitude, longitude - GPS location service supported)
- save your favorite weather stations so that you can access them quickly.
Coverage the whole US.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this App displays all the AVAILABLE weather data provided by NOAA/NWS/Applied Climate Information System(ACIS) at each location (weather station). If you don't see some values or M, please understand it is not fault of the app but a lack of information at the source. Hence, do not leave (please) a bad review for something we can't fix, as on reviews depends our survival on the market. - https://www.weather.gov/ama/coop - http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/coop/ .
