NCT is a boy group made by SM Entertainment. Their name stands for Neo Culture Technology. A term created by SM Entertainment's founder, Lee Soo Man.

NCT is a boy group concept with an infinite number of members. They are also divided into several sub-units which are not only active in South Korea.

Through a training program made by SM Entertainment, SM Roookeis, NCT has been prepared since 2013. Recruitment of NCT members is carried out through a variety of ways, ranging from street recruitment, personal recommendations to through the SM Global Audition program.

2016 is a historic year for NCT. Because their 3 sub-units debuted in the same year. April 4, 2016, NCT U released 2 singles namely The 7th Sense and Without You.

On July 1, the second unit of NCT, NCT 127 was announced with the formation of members Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, WinWin, Mark and Haechan. Based in Seoul, South Korea, this sub-unit uses Seoul's longitude coordinates, 127 as their name. Their debut singles are Fire Truck and One Again.

August 18, S.M. Entertainment announced NCT's third unit, NCT Dream. The NCT Dream members are Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. Their first single, Chewing Gum, was released on August 24, 2016.

At the end of 2016, NCT 127 announced that there were additional personnel. Then enter Doyoung and Jhonny complete the NCT 127 formation.

The latest sub-unit of NCT is WayV. This unit is based in China. Not alone, SM Entertainment also collaborated with a label from China, Label V to oversee the sub-unit which officially debuted on January 17, 2019. WayV has 7 personnel namely Kun, Winwin, Ten, Lucas, Hendery, Xiaojun, and Yangyang.
