Music History in a Flash! is a set of virtual flashcards covering the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras.
The app is intended to be a study aid for students preparing for the Royal Conservatory of Music's Level 9 and 10 History exams (formerly 'History 1' and 'History 2'). It may also be useful to music appreciation students, and appeal to anyone with an interest in music history!
There are around 450 cards for each exam (just over 700 total), divided into six categories: musical terms, composers' styles, composers' repertoire, composers' biographies, score excerpts and representative works. You can also answer questions by era. The questions are based on the 2016 RCM exam syllabus.
