Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

This fast-paced version of the classic real-estate-mogul game seems even more addictive than we remember. Monopoly lets you play against up to three computerized or human opponents on your Palm device. Available customization options are not plentiful, but you can at least choose your playing piece and which AI opponents you face off with. Monopoly's colorful board is laid out just like its real-world counterpart, and gameplay proceeds in the same manner with one exception. Although you'll be able to reject or accept trade offers from other players, we could never figure out how to initiate a trade ourselves. That said, the built-in opponents can be quite clever, and it took us a few tries for us to bankrupt them. We would prefer a longer trial period, particularly since the game is so entertaining, but you should still be able to get a clear enough picture whether it's worth purchasing. If you love Monopoly and carry a Palm, we see no reason why this one would disappoint you.
