Editors' Review

by   / October 16, 2014

MiniTool Photo Recovery helps you save photos lost from a variety of devices including digital cameras, memory cards, or even your computer itself. Through the app's straightforward interface, users of all experience levels may retrieve photos they thought were lost for good.

Clear interface: The four main scanning options available though this app are all presented clearly in the main interface. Once you've completed the scan of your choice, you'll also see nice-size preview images of the located files, so you can quickly go through and select those you'd like to save.

Filter options: To help narrow down the number of files you have to look through after you finish a scan, you can apply a filter to help you find what you're looking for faster. For instance, you can filter by file size, extension, or name.

Hidden Help: There is an online Help manual for this program, but there is no link to it in the program. While most users won't need much guidance, it's nice to know you have a reference available when you need it.

Bottom Line

MiniTool Photo Recovery is useful for recovering photos you've lost for any reason on many different types of devices. Its interface is straightforward, and the file filter options included make sorting through scan results that much more manageable. The app is completely free, and while the Help Manual could be more available, it is there if you know to look for it.
