Wow! Where to begin? Mind Chi has just been upgraded to version 2.0 and this update is a BIG one. Let's start off with the big features.
First off, the interface has been completely redesigned for the modern version of iOS. Every aspect of the app can be accessed with the tab bar at the bottom of the screen.
Mind Chi now announces what step you are currently on vocally if enabled. You no longer need to look at your phone at all when doing your 8 minutes. If you'd like to do your session quietly, a vibration can be enabled.
While you are in your session, tap the "Hear Explanation" button to hear a spoken instruction on what you should be doing in this particular minute. You can tap the current step in the middle of the timer circle to read a written version as well.
Introducing the Learn section. One of the main focus points of 2.0 is to make the Mind Chi app a teacher for you to learn how to utilize Mind Chi without any other external resources needed. The first major step towards this is with the new "Learn" tab. Tap this to find many articles targeted to help you get on your feet with Mind Chi all on your own.
Questionnaires have been re-designed to make it easier to answer them. Use a slider to answer the Stress Questionnaire's rating of 0-10.
Mind Chi 2.0 tracks how many sessions you have had in total and how many days you have left of your 28 days. If you are in the middle of your 28 days and wish to keep track from when you started, an option in the "Settings" tab at the bottom allows you to specify when you started.
Need some extra help remembering to start a session each day? Enable a daily alert at whatever time you choose and Mind Chi will keep you on track.
Some smaller improvements include:
- A less piercing chime when a new step occurs
- A different chime at the end of a session
- A 'session completed' screen to direct you to other resources
- Dark Mode compatibility
- An introduction booklet when first opening the app
Version 2.0 is huge and has been designed as a stepping stone to increase the possibility of what the Mind Chi app can become further down the line. Thanks for using Mind Chi!
