MenuCalendarClock displays a calendar at the top-right corner of your screen with a drop down featuring all of the events on your current iCal. This allows you fast access to any of your events without having to open the iCal app, even if you are using a different application. The app is fast, responsive, and doesn't slow down the computer like some other menu tray calendar apps -- making it a fine addition to any Mac.

After installation, which is fast and can be streamlined further with load-on-startup settings, a small calendar icon appears at the top right of your screen in your menu tray. Click it and a small calendar drops down with each day on it highlighted if there are events scheduled. Click any day to see your schedule and load iCal for more details. You can switch between months quickly, toggle to a full to-do list format that includes all of the reminders attached to your iCloud account, or you can change settings to determine how things are displayed. This is all very intuitive and runs smoothly in the background.

Really handy to have desktop reference to your calendar events and to do's, but...

No support, sent 3 emails and no answer. The week day is wrong, on the calendar 3 May says Thursday - correct, on the drop down schedule 3 May is Friday - wrong! Concern is that having paid US$19 there appears to be another gotcha - you can't save any new event using this tool unless you 'upgrade'. No mention of upgrades on the site or application description, only the registration fee ($19) which gets the additional and necessary features. That's fine, we all need to make a living, and it was clearly explained. The upgrade requirement (another US$19) was not explained.
Summary
Major fault, no support, been an invaluable tool for a long time, lost in space.

This latest version of MenuCalendarClock has a serious bust on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.3. It shows the day of the week one day later than the correct day for any given date. Today, for instance, is Thursday, April 12, 2012, but MenuCalendarClock insists that today is Friday. I sent e-mail to the developer two days ago, but have yet to get a response.

I've used this for a while. To be fair, it seems to be updated as needed for compatibility. But I haven't seen it improve or get refined during that time. Overall design is a bit lacking. But the feature set is strong and it works well. Don't really use the birthday feature.

When the CalendarMenuClock first came out, I tried to purchase a license and the credit card was declined. I tried to contact them for months and months to find out why and I finally received an email saying I had used a card that had expired but they could do nothing because they use a payment service that did not tell them when this kind of thing happened. That's lame. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I purchased a license for the new 10.5 version and I cannot register it nor can I use the benefits of the purchased version. I have sent three emails to them in the last two weeks and still nothing. They have my money but I can't use their software. I do not recommend this company but as I said I like the free version of the product.
