MSD Organizer Freeware is a versatile, expandable, and feature-packed personal information manager. MSD Organizer opened with a floating time gadget and an extensive Help file with a Quick Tour and Introduction. The user interface is busy but efficient and attractive, with a day planner in the main window and a calendar sidebar. Customizable toolbars give a familiar browser-like look to the layout, with browser-like efficiency, too. While MSD Organizer does a lot, there's no mystery or confusion about its features: Buttons labeled "Calendar," "Contacts," "Alarms," and so on accessed a variety of clearly configured screens, most with extremely helpful sample data. We could color-code data, view and edit tasks, create sophisticated cards, and access a huge variety of extra tools, including spreadsheets, word processor, image viewer, clock, and calculator -- and even Moon information. Diary, Health, Budget, and other modules add specific capabilities that integrate with MSD Organizer's other features.
MSD Organizer Freeware has the look and feel of a long-running app that's been constantly refined, augmented, and updated, which it is. A Pro version adds various capabilities, but it's hardly an exaggeration to say we were staggered by the extent of the free version's tools, options, and support.
