If your system is lagging or CPU performance just isn't want you think it should be, try out this helpful monitoring program.
MKN Performance Monitor has a basic interface with graphic readouts and several points of statistical information. As stated in its name, this program monitors computer performance by displaying two graphic readouts of processor usage and input/output rates. Below the graphs, users will find a real-time display of the processor, I/O, and system performance. We liked that the information was also available when the program was minimized. A quick hover over the system tray icon brought up a minireadout that includes a graph of CPU usage. By default, the readout and the graphs are refreshed once every half second, but this can be easily changed by the user. According to MKN Performance Monitor, the program creates no drag on performance, and we found that to be true in our tests. The program worked quietly in the background without affecting any other activities.
Anyone looking for a simple, easy-to-understand program to monitor system performance should look no further than MKN Performance Monitor. This freeware can help any user monitor and view system performance.
MKN PerformanceMonitor shows detailed information about system, I/O, and processor performance. It creates performance graphs for each installed processor, and the system I/O history. MKN PerformanceMonitor shows information about each processor core in the system, including the CPU usage, the KERNEL mode time, hardware processor usage, and the processor's current clock frequency. It also shows information about the system performance, including the total CPU usage, the system CPU usage, context switches, system calls, and page faults.
In addition, it displays information about the I/O read, write, and other operations and the amount of data transferred. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
