Developer's Description

An app-based lifestyle program designed for the research study MI-BP. The app is to be used to help participants increase their physical activity levels, reduce sodium intake, and to better manage their hypertension, which may help prevent future health problems. The app will collect information via the Fitbit API and a Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure cuff, as well as manual entry of sodium intake. Collected data will be available in a dashboard within the app for all users. Participants will receive personalized physical activity goals each week as well as tips and tailored messages to help participants reach their weekly physical activity goal and improve their hypertension management. This app is part of a research project sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Full access to the app will only be provided to eligible participants who enroll in the voluntary research study.
